April 22, 2026 | Danbury, Connecticut
This Earth Day, Earth on Us partnered with Linde US (Danbury, Connecticut) to bring our Recycle Right educational activities to employees in the company cafeteria. The event featured both our interactive Recycle Right Board Game and Recycle Right Electronic Game, providing adults with a fun and engaging way to test and improve their recycling knowledge.
Learning Through Play
Recycling may seem simple, but many common items can be confusing to sort correctly. During the event, participants challenged themselves to place everyday items into the correct categories, including recycling, trash, and organics.
The Recycle Right Board Game encouraged hands-on learning by asking players to sort item cards into the correct bins. Employees discussed their choices, shared experiences, and learned about common recycling mistakes along the way.
The Electronic Game provided a digital version of the recycling challenge, allowing participants to quickly test their knowledge and receive immediate feedback.
What We Learned
As part of the event, Earth on Us collected feedback from participants to help improve future versions of the activities.
Electronic Game Feedback
The electronic game was well received by adults, but participants suggested that a shorter version would work better in workplace settings. Many employees were playing during lunch or break times, so a more streamlined experience would make it easier to complete while maintaining the educational value.
Based on this feedback, Earth on Us is exploring ways to shorten the game while preserving the key learning objectives.
Board Game Feedback
The board game performed very well and required little modification. Participants found it easy to understand and engaging to play.
Feedback also reinforced that the board game is particularly effective for elementary-age students and younger learners, who benefit from the hands-on sorting activity and visual learning format.
A Successful Earth Day Pilot
Overall, the Earth Day pilot at Linde US demonstrated that Recycle Right can successfully engage adults in learning about proper recycling practices while also serving as a fun educational tool for younger audiences.
The event provided valuable feedback that will help Earth on Us continue refining both the digital and physical versions of Recycle Right as we expand environmental education programs to schools, libraries, community organizations, and workplaces.
We are grateful to the employees and leadership at Linde USA for supporting this Earth Day event and helping us test new ways to make recycling education more accessible, engaging, and effective.
