This August, Earth on Us sent Recycle Right game sets to Erin L., one of our student board members in New Jersey, for use in local club activities. We’re excited to hear that Erin received the package on August 13 and can now begin bringing the activity to students in her own community.

Erin agreed to join Earth on Us during the 2026 Ignite, so it has been especially meaningful to see her continue that involvement back home in New Jersey. Erin is a student leader at her school, and we’re very grateful that she has been willing to take an active role as a board member and bring environmental education into her local club.

We’re also very thankful for the National 4-H Council Lead to Change grant, which helped us move this work forward sooner and made it possible to prepare and send materials to student leaders like Erin. That support has helped turn our plans for broader student-led outreach into something much more immediate and tangible.

The Recycle Right game is designed to make recycling education more interactive. Students sort common items, think through where each one belongs, and learn about mistakes that can contaminate recycling. Sending a game set to New Jersey means the activity can now be led by a student who understands her own school and community and can adapt the experience to the people around her.
